Changing providers for your Telephone, Broadband package or Mobile phone has never been easier. However there are still pitfalls and sometimes getting it wrong can cost you a few unexpected pounds.

Today Ofcom has posted three guides to help people get it right.

The advice includes information on potential charges and keeping your existing telephone number.

Of course the number one thing not to do is to advise your existing/old supplier of your intentions to change in most cases. This can result in your broadband and telephone line being cancelled and a delay in the new provider being able to access your line.
