Sorry for the delay in replaying.

The price difference between a 500GB drive and a 1TB, 1.5TB or 2TB isn't that huge these days, so please do take a look at the different prices first.

The DRX890 comes with a 500GB Seagate Pipeline drive. If you want like for like, then aim for this. Alternatively Western Digital (WD) does a range of drives for the PVR market. Ensure that you get one of the AV-GP range from WD as these have the correct specs. You should also use the WD head parking tool to set the head's parking time to its maximum.

      No problem.

Hopefully by providing you with some suitable key words you will be able to look around with a better idea on what to look for.

Many members have changed the drives in their Sky+ HD STBs over the years and we also have some guides on this forum to help you should you need them.

The Head Parking tool is FOC and is available from the WD website. You will need a PC/laptop and a suitable caddy to temporarily house the drive whilst you run the tool.

If you are looking to copy the contents of an existing drive to the new drive then you should also consider ExPVR. This valuable too will also correctly format any drive larger than 1TB for your STB. Again you will need to place it in a suitable caddy and connect it to your PC/Laptop.
