      Advert Mocking

isnt it just great to mock and laugh at adverts.

Ocean finance for example: "i need a loan so i can buy a big lawnmower to sit on even though my garden is so damn small"

oh and the RAC ones.. having a man attached to your car with rocket shoes is definalty going to upp the insurance!

soo many i cant think of

slightly controversal but the child abuse one where it goes "her uncle makes her do things she too young to understand" cant help thinking of a little old man laughing as he beats her at poker for the 40th time"

Adverts like the RAC ones are done to both grab your attention and so they will linger in your memory in the hope that you will remember them if you are looking to do something that might see the need to use their services.

Some of the ads are completely daft for what they do actually advertise, I usually channle surk when the ads come on anyway.

      Yeah like that one.

There an Autoglass advert that runs on local radio at the moment which always makes me chuckle.

Basically an Autoglass employee comes on to say that he had a female customer who drove over a cattle grid & a crack appeared in her windscreen which scared her

Who on earth would get scared by a crack in their windscreen!!!

On the subjects of averts though, my favourite at the moment are the ones for the new vauxhall Corsa. They make no sense at all but do at least offer some light entertainment.......................C'Mon

My favourite adverts at the moment are the VW ones, particularly the one with the coffee and the coffee-stained salesman.

I genuinely despise the various finance ones - "In masses of debt? Why not take out another mortgage at a higher rate than most personal loans?", as well as the personal injury ones. Also, anything with "real people" - from the Halifax ones to those toilet paper ones - bugs the hell out of me for no good reason.

My biggest hate though is for ridiculous misuse of music. The Manic Street Preachers are particular perpetrators/victims of this - "Design for Life", a song about how much modern Wales (well, Britain and the working class in general) sucks being used by the Welsh Tourist Board, "Australia", a song about wanting to take drugs and run away to the other side of the world to cope with the disappearance and probable suicide of your best friend being used by the Aussie toursit board, and "Motorcycle Emptiness", a song about the vacuity and emptiness of modern consumerist lifestyles, being used in a mobile phone advert.

There's a couple of cosmetics adverts that use stupidly wrong music too - one uses "White Rabbit", that hymn to massive use of hallucigens, and one that uses "Hysteria" by Muse, a ridiculously heavy piece of music for perfume...

Oh yeah, computer adverts drive me up the wall. That PC World one where they tell you that a dual core processor is needed to simultaneously download songs and upload emails... it's a wonder my TV hasn't gone out the window. Maybe one more Phones4U advert will do it - there's nothing worse than advertisers trying to be "quirky".

I think the phones3u adverts are funny as anything. I would never buy from them though as the impression i get is that the staff at phones 4 u are thick as short planks
