      Letter from Sky

Today, I received a letter from sky telling me that to view sky go using an xbox, I have to subscribe to sky go extra, however, because I am already a sky go extra customer, I am ok and don't have to do anything.

I am NOT a sky go extra customer!

Yet another letter from sky which is incorrect.

Do they only employ chimps from the local zoo?

I am so glad my contract ends in mid August.

Have you got multiscreen? I have seen a few occasions where it is on customers accounts without them knowing and it has not been noticed because they don't pay for it due to multiscreen.

      Re: Letter from Sky

I got that letter as well telling me that because I already have Sky Go Extra ( as a multiscreen customer) then I am covered for using Sky Go on an Xbox come 29th July.

This is all well and and good apart from the fact that I have never owned an xbox and don't plan to. I don't know why they sent me this letter as I would have thought that they must be aware than not one of my registered devices is an xbox.

      Got the same thing today.

Although I have used Sky Go in the past on the Xbox360 I have never subscribed to Sky Go Extra.

      Re: Letter from Sky

I don't have an xbox and never have had one and never will have one!

I think perhaps Edinburgh zoo is releasing their chimps on a daily basis to work for sky.

      Re: Letter from Sky

Evidently not getting enough from gate receipts to pay for the Giant Pandas.

Seriously though in this day and age nobody will employ anyone (human or otherwise) just to send letters.
It's all done with mail merge. Unfortunately someone has to set the criteria which determines who will receive a letter.
I don't know what applies in this case but can guess in another instance that has been reported recently in this forum:

      1. Customer has Sky Broadband.
      2. Customer cancels Sky TV.
      3. Send letter advising 2.50 increase in cost of BB for not having Sky TV.

It's not rocket science and I am sure that if letters were sent out manually these errors would not occur.
There would probably be typos but that's something entirely different.
Get someone of average intelligence but without an IT background to craft a database query and you are asking for trouble.

Isn't that correct? Its only in the case of Sky Fibre broadband you don't get a discount for having TV.
