Yep, those long hot summer holidays are nearly upon us.

In case you hadn't already made any plans then double check now as it may already be too late for you to get your passports updated. On the other hand you may be alright and be able to get your passport in the stated 4 weeks.

The advice is to get your passport before you book that last minute holiday abroad. 6-8 weeks is probably more realistic. Don't forget those all important visas too.

Of course you still have to pack things carefully. Apparently it is now safe to pack those liquids, i.e. Coca cola, shaving cream, perfume, gin, whiskey, tequila...

Ladies do be careful though as some nail polish removers do have acetone and they may not like that. Gents, don't store anything in the heal of your shoes.

Of course once you get on your plane you'll be greeted by the flight crew. They will then give you that lovely in-fligt safety talk...



Once you have taken off, it is no longer the time to think about your travel insurance. You should have checked that before you left home and be carrying copies with you. Do give careful consideration to where you are landing though. You may cause someone to get covered in sand...



Of course those were the ones that landed first time...



Once you get there, do have a lovely time and keep safe. Should someone wish to hijack you whilst on a boat, just call in the Russians...
