Absolute nonsense. I as well as most of the other moderators / admins, as well as genuine Sky customers have slated Sky on here previously.

If you genuinely feel that this forum is in anyway biased, I will gladly delete your account.

Go and take your beef with Sky to the official forums, and leave the people who reply on here to post replies to genuine people who need help with issues, and not waste our time answering nonsense like this.

PM to confirm that you would like your account deleted.

Re: Why would anyone come to these forums for genuine help?

I notice that finally you have decided to stop hiding behind a Proxy Server today. Nice.

There are many questions that members haves asked on the SkyUser forums that get banned on the Official Sky forum. Also this forum was actually set up before Sky set up theirs.

Do take a look at the Sky forums and try and ask questions such as Why can't you use the Sky Go app on your Samsung SII, despite it appearing in their advertising? or perhaps you could ask them how to set up a port forward for your nice new NAS drive or Xbox or PS3? Other topics that are banned by Sky would be talking about rival providers, taking your STB to Espaņa or Deutchland, posting rumours about new products or hacking Sky products.

Of course we slate Sky from time to time. I personally have no financial interest in selling you Sky's over priced WiFi bridge for the Sky+ HD or SkyHD STBs or promoting the 1TB Sky+ HD STB as the largest option available. As for Sky Connect, just very long read through the thread on this topic linked below. You'll find a lot of people criticising Sky:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...ect-users.html

Of course there are sections of this forum dedicated to having some fun too. There are many threads where people have posted things which have nothing to do with Sky, broadband or TV. The Official Friday thread is just one example:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/gener...ay-thread.html

There are some rules on this forum. Provided that you don't actually make a statement that is completely unfounded and liable to cause the forum to be taken to court, then there should be no problem. Of course there are a few more and as Ged has stated you are free to leave.

Perhaps because people with genuine problems will receive genuine answers from others with genuine knowledge.

      What's your problem?

Re: Why would anyone come to these forums for genuine help?

For the record, there are a lot of friendly people on this forum, which is why I've hung around.

People don't tend to provide stock answers as much as they do on the Sky forum.

When their official account has been used in the past I have pointed out that their answers were wrong or that the page which that have linked to (on the Sky website) contained errors.

At the same time if I post a mistake on this forum I have no problem with others correcting me. When it comes to posting reference pages though, we do work to ensure that the information is correct at the time of posting.

...and yes there are some more changes required on the Fibre FAQ before someone reminds me.

well the reason people come to these forums my friend is because some need help either setting up something or have connection issues or are wondering what to do if there stuck on something.
