My names Tom, nice to be part of the forum!
My girlfreind and me have finally managed to get on the property lader and I have started thinking about what TV/Phone/Internet we are going to get. I guess the only two options we have are Virgin and Sky. I have experience with both of these and would prefer Sky however I dont know if I can justify the extra cost of Sky?
I have tried to compare them but there websites arent the most user freindly. I know on Virgin you get HD channels, Multiroom and ESPN for free where as the are chargable from Sky and Virgin has better internet.
What do you guys think? I know you might be slightly biased as this is a Sky forum lol but it would be good to hear your experienced oppinions.

Virgin hd is grainy upscaled rubbish and the TiVo is riddled with problems
I tend to get OK speed with virgin but it varies for no reason,
Getting full speed again now - lost full speed to around 10mbps from 11-12:30
I have sky LLU and I tend to use that as a dedicated line for a Roku box and our phones. Virgin is not very good at those services (well mines not anyway)

Thanks for your reply.
I havent noticed the HD being grainy however the lip sink on Virgins HD is terrible!

Ohh ok, I just assumed they were both 1080p!
Wonder what Virgin is?
Just been looking round the forum, whats this 'code' that gets you cheap Sky? Looks like they are very sought after but it could make my decision quite a lot easier! lol

Welcome to the forum, I've got Sky+HD,Sky Talk and Sky Fibre Optic Broadband. Don't know if it helps but Sky Customer Services are excellent compared to what I've heard about Virgin

For picture quality and choice of HD channels, sky wins no question. I've compared both on identical tv's. Virgin sometimes suffers from pixalition which is very off putting. Sky and virgin both broadcast HD in 1080i so you would think they would be identical.
Virgin has the faster broadband but not the most reliable, Williammorris will tell you that.
The virgin Tivo box, even with it's few problems, is great and could be ironed out with a few software updates. The sky HD box is a easy to use, but doesn't have the bells and whistles of the Tivo.
I think on most comparison reviews sky usually come out on top.
