It looks like someone from the Beeb has been reading this thread as they've replayed the clip that steelysteph linked to in the news this evening.

Apparently Blackberries have not been able to send any messages all day today, so hopefully they will be back up and running soon.

Anyone for an Apple & Blackberry Crumble?

i think i would be old and wrinkly b4 apple has a fail crash like blackberry did, blackberry rely to much on servers, everything from bbm to email to facebook had to go via rim....so ofc there will be angery people when the server has hickups....
and incase anyone is wondering bbm is slowly coming back now, messages taking a few mins to send, that will be due to backlog, although dont get to happy, this happened on monday and it went out within 12hrs of being back....

Keep my iPhone which integrates seemlessly with Outlook under MS Office (calendar, contacts and mail) or get the Samsung which uses Kiel and DOESNT work ??? ....... a no brainer really ...... I am staying with my iPhone thanks

I have no doubt the Samsung is a good phone .... it just doesnt do what I need.

yea but apple dont use flash plus your locked into ios unless you jailbreak but you get caught if you do. plus i dont like paying over the odds for a phone paying for a apple makes it more sursceptible to people stealing it and get money for it. im quite happy paying for a cheaper phone im not into this apps apps apps crap

Re: Samsung Galaxy S2 "No1 Phone"

If a mobile of any description is stolen now, once it is reported it should be completely locked out of all networks.

With this in mind, it would not matter whether you have a Nokia, Samsung, Apple, Blackberry or any other brand.

I think you'd notice the improved speed, graphics, and camera too...

What's wrong with being "locked in"? Most people don't Jailbreak because they don't need to. The App Store has everything they'd want. I only used to Jailbreak for decent notifications and tethering, and I don't need that now thanks to recent updates. Sure, some people do want more control, more customisability, apps Apple wouldn't approve, etc., but the vast majority don't want or need that. It does what they want... There's also more quality control too with the App Store, and less crap. As for "you get caught if you do"... actually, you don't.

As for Flash... I've never missed it on my iPhone, and rarely ever even use it on my PC. You don't need it for YouTube (app, website), iPlayer (website), streaming live Freeview TV (app, website), Sky Go (app), 4oD (app), etc. etc. I don't want to see Flash ads, never play browser games, and utterly despise Flash-based websites. Other than those, there's no need for it. More and more sites are moving away from Flash now, or at least offering alternatives.
