Apple products are seen as a status symbol these days. Everybody knows that the iPhone is not the best looking or performing phone in the market. People just want it because they think it comes with a label that screams 'i am rich'.

Of course what some of them don't realise is that when a thing becomes too common it looses it's x factor. An iphone is not like a MAC any more. Everybody has it.

Sadly not, but the background screen has a variety of different wallpapers available that are.

Of course it does hide nicely in my handbag, especially when it starts ringing...

You're locked down to using only officially approved apps from the App Store, unless you Jailbreak.

There are plenty of apps available though (more than for Android), and tonnes from third parties.

But yes, it is locked down and less customisable than Android. Not that most iPhone owners care. For the majority, it does what they want, which at the end of the day is all that matters...

      Except it has...

Each major (whole number version) of iOS has introduced big changes, with various other smaller changes from the subversions.

Or maybe they want it because it does what they want?

Not everyone who has an iPhone is an Apple fanboy. Not everyone who has an iPhone has one because they want people to think they're "rich" or because they want to use it as a "status symbol".

not realy, u have apps such as "find my iphone" which is an offical apple app that lets you track your own iphone, there are also third party apps such as IGotYa which when a person tries to enter a passcode take their picture and sends it + location to a pre-defined e-mail address.
^ can also be a fun prank to play on people
me:if you can geuess my passcode you can have my iphone.
them: give me a clue :S
me: it begins with the number 9 *in my head:not realy*
them: aww i dident get it
      me: smile for the camera

I did not imply that this was everybody's reason for having an iPhone but majority of the people fall under this criteria.

Unnecessary post. Oh wait maybe you were hurt.
