My internet just works, which tbh I am happy with. I don't do major downloading, nor uploading, and so as long as it is reliable then I am happy. Which Sky is.

I left for financial reasons, and because of the cashback, it was practically free for a year to move to o2 - But is quite clear o2 are not doing as well as they have already backed down and committed to unlimited downloads. People will always vote with their feet. Maybe o2 have realised this now.....

On the other hand they have probably been quite clever.

In the last year anyone who was a really heavy downloader will have left as they could no longer cope on the o2 network.

Agreed on this point, if I was to consider changing ISP, this would prevent me from choosing Sky.

Beg to differ on this point. I have only had to call them once to report a line fault, this was at 7 in the evening, by 9 the same evening an Openreach engineer was at my house repairing the fault.
If that had been Sky they would have been fobbing me off with excuses that it wasnt their problem, not sorting it out like O2 did.

Remember the LCRIB exchange fault that had us offline for a week ?
It took someone being in the know on here to actually find out what the issue was, Sky were merrily blaming everyone else but themselves and never did admit the problem was with their equipment.

I had a pleasant experience with o2 too. Uncapped from day 1 and top notch customer service. With o2 you get as much as your line can handle. With Sky I am pretty sure at least 60-70% of people get less then what they could manage.

This solely could have been the reason o2 had to introduce network management in the first place.

Re: O2 Broadband is Unlimited again!

great - unlimited downloads @ what crappy speed when its throttled ?

      taken from there site
"Up to 20 meg download speeds (depending on location and traffic management)

na, i wont be tempted - like others on here, i have had a really good experience with sky b/b & tv & there customer service when i get through...whether i,m just dam lucky, i dont know... - but im thankful...very !

Also agree with the site founder - i just signed up on aug 2011 - BEFORE they insist you took there line rental to get there b/b - i would NEVER have put all my eggs in one basket...never....like others have said, most of the horror storys ( research yourselfs) are to do with people on the "full package" from sky - line rental/bb/tv ect....
      but....
Had i signed up after aug 2011, and HAD to take sky's line rental to get there b/b, i might have been swaye with O2's offer...as i,m a o2 customer anyway

Don't know where you got that from but it's definitely unlimited now with no traffic management. I've had a mate sign up to it who lives down the road and he's exceeded 1tb already with no problems what so ever.

from there OWN web site =

O2 moves to unlimited downloads on The All Rounder and The Works broadband packages - O2 Blog

read about half way down under "Our best value broadband is now available" which says -

"Up to 20 meg download speeds (depending on location and traffic management"

UNLIMITED downloads yes but, "traffic managment" @ what speeds during there "traffic managment" are you gonna get ??
that implys to me that they WILL throttle speeds...or i,m i reading it all wrong ?

It's probably an error. If you head over to the official o2 forum you will be able to find plenty of happy stories of people who've been hammering their connections and are not being traffic managed any more.
