Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
I have Sky+ box on main TV with 2nd TV connected by RF2 and Sky TV Link which gave me a good picture.
I recently fitted a SLX Aerial Mast Amplifier due to poor signal on Freeview digital channels, I now get all digital channels with good picture on both TVs.
The problem is:
I have now lost sound and get a very bad picture on 2nd tv Sky channel.
The problem seems to be the SLX power unit for the Mast Amplifier, if I unplug it I get good Sky channel with sound. (but lose digital channels)
Do I need some sort of bypass to remedy the problem.
regards Dave

Re: Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
Try changing the channel on the receiver that the Sky picture is being sent out on and then retuning th TV.
For SkyHD use services,0,0,1,select and remember to save the settings.

Re: Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
Thanks Smithy
My SKY+ TV is received on channel 68 and I get it on 2nd TV on Program 10 (Analogue), channel 68.
I have tried changing from Program 10 to 8 with no effect.
I understand you are suggesting changing the 68 channel, if that so I will give it a try when the grandson comes off the cartoon channels.
If I change Channel 68 on 2nd tv will it effect main tv ?
(Strangely: if I unplug the tv aerial from main tv the sound returns on 2nd tv Sky channel even after replacing it, but after switching off and on again there is no sound)
Regards

Re: Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
Yes, you need to move the channel from 68 on the Sky receiver and then tune in the second TV to the new frequency, it won't affect the main TV as that will be connected via either SCART or HDMI.
The problem is that with the amplifier running it is causing cross modulation on channel 68, that is why when you either remove the aerial or unplug the power supply it clears up.

Re: Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
Eureka
Many thanks Smithy
I changed the Main TV Channel to 69
I did not need to retune 2nd TV, Sky picture and sound perfect.
I am very grateful for your help, I was starting to panic and fearing another costly visit to Maplins as everything you buy from them seems to sealed in plastic and non returnable after you open.
Best wishes
Dave

Re: Aerial Mast Amplifier Problems
You're welcome Dave, it is a common thing with the RF2 output.
