Sounds like its going to be a Hung Parliament according to BBC.co.uk and the News . I get politics just tend to get a little confused sometimes lmao. Oh I voted Lib Dem because if Conservatives get in my relatives (Mum and Dad) will loose their jobs.

Re: Who did you vote for?

Until there is some form of proportional representation, voting for the LibDems is like using your ballot paper in the toilet. The results of this election prove that, but Clegg is in the position of Kingmaker, which I am pretty sure, that is all he hoped for. Far too much emphasis was placed on the party leaders.
Cameron turned it into a US Presidential style election and was most successful at pulling the wool over the voters eyes.
Poor GB after making Blair one of the most successful Labour PMs ever, the policies he used to do it have come back to bite him. I can't see him lasting long as the Labour leader.
Clegg is in the worst position of all, unless he can push through PR, his party will die at the next election, no matter who he supports. Maybe he will bite the bullet and refuse to support either party, that would mean a very early General Election.

      Exciting times ahead!!

Re: Who did you vote for?

it is really scary for us that remember the 1970's how it's all coming around again.

The hung parliment in 1974 eventually saw Wilson being offered the PM job after Heath held on for a couple of days (although there was only 4 seats difference at that time.)

Wilson and then Callghahan had to tackle a huge amount of UK debt and rising inflation and unemployment with a minority government, which after the winter of discontent was the final straw in 1979.

Thatcher in 1979 had to then continue and tackle the debt problem and inflation, especially as the country had to been bailed out by the IMF as the pound almost collapsed, which needed some very bad medicine, my dad and mum lost his job multiple times in the 80's and spent long periods unemployed.

So far it is all deja vu with different names and to be honest I don't care who's fault how we have to got here we need strong leadership and somebody who needs to make tough descions which will be bloody unpopular and will hurt us all no matter who we supported.

Given that the UK has borrowed more than even Greece has as %'age of GDP and I can see that the other shoe could drop and we could head for another winter of discontent.

Anyways all this aside at least we all got to vote (unless you turned up with too long queues) and there are plenty of places in the world where people have been imprisoned or even killed for daring to ask to have a system like ours.

I did not vote Tory, as I too am a public worker (and let's face it, in the sector you're only safe in Social Services/Education), me being ICT would be doomed.

I have to say GB, although not popular, would steer us clear of joining the Euro, let's face it, would we want that? I think now parliament is hung, Brown/Clegg will join together. Clegg/Cameron - never work.

Then, Milaband for Labour leader. Just my opinion.

Re: Who did you vote for?

Cameron would make a deal with the devil to get into No 10. Clegg is a bit more tied as he has to get the approval of his party before he can agree to anything. The Lib Dems have more in common with Labour than the Tories and they will have to have a lot of demands met before they agree. When they coalesced with Labour in the Scottish Parliament they presented a 30 page list of demands.

It shows how bad our election process is when a party which has a fraction of the seats can dictate who is going to run the country. I feel very sorry for anyone in public services, they must be worrying about whether they will have a job after summer.

If they reduced the majority number down it wouldnt be a majority would it ?
There are 650 seats, half of this is 325 so a majority is 1 more ie 326.
