Need a Compact Digital Camera
Hey
I need a camera to replace my samsung digimax d106.
I have narrowed it down.... I think to the:
Panasonic TZ7 or the Canon Powershot SX200IS
Now the problem is that I have heard lots of people saying the screen on the panasonic breaks for no reason, and panasonics view is just to say, sorry you must have dropped it and they refuse to deal with the problem.
I dont know if any of you own one, or can recomend a camera.
HD Video is a must.

I have the TZ7 - recently replaced with TZ10. I think it is a superb camera but I've heard about the screen issue. Quality is superb and the video/zoom excellent. A little slow to focus in video mode is my only critisism but I am delighted with it.

I also have a TZ7, bought it two weeks ago just before the price dropped to under £200

I have not used it much yet but it is a beautifully made piece of kit. I bought it mainly for the large Zoom and the video capabilities. I am hoping to dispense with my DV camcorder, I am getting too old to lug around two cameras.
I looked at the Canon, but every review I read put it behind the TZ. I must admit I did not come across the screen problem, only one where the selector wheel moved too easily. This seems to be fixed as mine is nice and firm.

Remember, the Canon does not allow you to use the zoom whilst recording video, whereas the Panny does....
I have a TZ7. which we take out whenever I don't want to take my "main" camera (Sony HX1 (FANTASTIC camera)) And the TZ7 is a cracker for the size/price.

Ok I bought the tz10 as it does not blur when you zoom in HD like the TZ7
I got it for 275.00 but ... and hopefully, panasonic will honour the receipt I get as you can only get the 30.00 disocunt if you buy in shop.
I dont know how panasonic will know if I bought it in shop or not, if I get a receipt with my purchase and the place I bought it from is an actual shop.
Has anyone ever dealt with any of these cashback deals?
Also why did you change from a TZ10 to a TZ7?
