      Recording from FreeSat

Members - Can you help please.
My aged parents have installed Sky FreeSat and their old VCR has packed up.
Will a standard digital TV recorder be able to record programmes from the Skybox ?
Is it purely a case of scart connection and arranging in/out correctly ?
I am a Sky+ subscriber so have never had to try and configure this.
      Thx in Advance

No. They will need to get a DVD recorder with HDD. A digital tv recorder will not record from an external source.

A HDD recorder would be their best bet if they want to stick to Freesat. One with an in/out scart if it is an old telly. The only problem may be getting one that is just a recorder, most now have built in TV tuners. I am not sure if this type will record of a source other than the built in tuners. It may be easier to forget about the Sky box and get an all in one, something like this Humax
