    Postal strike

    This is a discussion on Postal strike within the General chat forums, part of the Community channel category; I know, i read the email as well. But it's here and it was a big surprise, i can't complain ...

      Me too It looks like someone at PCW used their head and got in before the strike took effect.

      if so you may have been dealt with through the same PCW Centre or dispatch centre.

      mine is coming from DHL via the Lincon Service Centre.

      I am not certain but I think mine came from Ireland. At least the disk package was made there.

      Bannockburn is a fair way from Carlisle.

      Could we be the first in the world to get the new OS?

      you may have got yours from the first PCW Store that Microsoft Supplyed due to microsoft europe being based in lreland

      As i stated earlier, it was a big surprise, a plain white jiffy bag, no clues as to who it was from.

      It requires you to have an internet connection to install properly so it may reject until the official release date. It may be worth a try as the servers will be red hot on the 22nd.

      I am not in a hurry to install it as the RC is fully working and I have a lot of stuff to remove from there before I delete it. I am not sure if Easy Transfer will work between the RC and the full version, but I will give it a try, if no one reports it does not work before then.

      That was my thinking when i mentioned it. Might leave it until next week.

      A poster on another forum claims to have installed all OK though and got the updates.
