Re: A regional account of the loss of itv3 and itv4
I'm from the East Anglian region and I have lost Channel 5 but gained ITV 3 and ITV 4 and of course Quest. I find it quite amazing that the main reason behind the retune was for channel 5 to become more available for people but I haven't got it at all now and I have retuned twice. Will give it a go again in a few days to see what happens.

Re: A regional account of the loss of itv3 and itv4 (FREEVIEW ONLY)
lost itv 3 & 4 on 30th Sept. as Torquay Town PSB Transmitter ceased broadcasting to allow BBC & ITV HD services. Itv 3 and itv 4 should remain on PSB transmitters and not have HD as they are mainly used by people happy with a limited choice of channels who won't want HD. Torquay Town like other PSB stations has just 22 DTV channels and used to carry analogue before switchover last April. In my view switching off these channels is the first step of closing the PSB stations as they aren't cost effective, and it will get people to start taking up other ways of getting television in the area through either, sky, freesat or virgin media cable. Elderly residents in the flats where I live had to wait until switchover to get digital, and have been pretty upset at the loss of itv 3 and itv. 4. The Management Company are being asked to get the Communal system currently fed by a single aerial pointing atTorquay Town upgraded to a high gain with masthead to receive a full free view service from the Stockland Hill main transmitter.
