      Shows you why piracy is on the increase when they can produce perfect copies disc and boxes.

      Fraser box set
      Hotboxset = 48 Delivery Free (48.00)
      Amazon = 99.99 Delivery 1.21 (101.20)

      Thats life.

      But the disk quality wont be as good surely? so you could risk 49 on something that may only last a year.

      Even if i bought the 48 version, I would know it wasn't top quality and would want the 'proper' version and would end up buying it!!!!!

      Re: Legit, too good to be true or a scam

      Why wouldn't it be the same quality?
      Data is just 0 and 1, buy one set burn it to DVDs as region 0, copy and create the box and sell, sure the packaging won't be perfect, but the DVD will be exactly the same.

      As for the programmes that haven't been released, HD is your friend, those will be of same or better quality then would be on the DVD boxset, record that direct from source transmission and repeat above.

      This is no different to the woman selling DVDs from a bag in the street, just more professional.

      It wont be the same.

      Its like making a copy of a copy, the quality will be not that good.

      Trust me, have you seen tv shows on you tube, they are not as good as whats on dvd.

      If there has not been any dvdrips for them to copy then they have recorded it either on-line or on the tv, then to make a copy of that, and then made a 1000 copies of that.

      If you want to buy something from china or japan or some place like that, I would only really buy on ebay at least you can see people are happy.

      Its not hard to set up an internet site and get peoples credit card dets.

      The actual disk quality would depend on how they are made. If they are being 'pressed' rather burnt, then it could be just as good as 'store bought'. After all, nearly all of the top quality disks available are made in the Far East as is the equipment used in their manufacture. The actual PQ would depend on the quality of the 'original'. Many pirate copies are almost indistinguishable from the legal ones as they are made from Studio copies.

      I would still think twice about putting my account details into a site selling 'bootleg' copies, if they are crooked one way, they are probably crooked all ways.

      Re: Legit, too good to be true or a scam

      I purchased the Ally McBeal DVD boxset for $63, about half of what everyone else was charging from Hotboxset.com. Out of over 30 discs only four actually would read and play in the dvd player. After two weeks of e-mailing back and forth, because shipping back to Asia is so pricey, they did offer a credit to my credit card of $33 which is what I would have gotten after shipping back to Asia and told me to keep the product. The moral of this story is that I am out 30 bucks and have 26 of 30 discs that don't work and am still awaiting the credit to my VISA. I may never actually see this credit and there is nothing that I can do about it. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!
