      remote router complete power off

      hi i would like to remotely power off my router during heavy rain and thunder. could somebody recommend an item for this.

      i have herd of remote sockets but is it safe to turn of the router two to three times per week during rain and thunder.

      i live in the north west and todays forcast is extremely heavy rain and possaible thunderstorms. so i need help right now

      I though you needed to unplug them, not just turn them off?

      If you just want to prevent the line from syncing at a lower speed because of a storm then you can switch it off. If you want to protect it from possible damage, then you need to disconnect the phone line as well as the mains.
