Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
Did anyone else get one of these emails today. I did and am not happy about it as I do not wish to receive any such emails and have made sure that I do do not by have all the relevant boxes unticked in My Sky. So why did I receive this today ?
I will be even more annoyed if I get another one next week having double checked that I am not subscribed to anything.

Normally there is a link at the bottom of the email to click on, to stop the emails from being sent.

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
Yes I have also received this newsletter both this week & last week. Like you, I have ticked all the no publicity boxes. After the first week, I found that the box for this newsletter was ticked, so I unticked it and did the no publicity settings again. Still got the newsletter this week. Maybe it takes a week or two for the changes to filter through...

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
I was even more annoyed to get a letter urging me to take out Sky Sports so I could watch some guy win the Ashes for ENGLAND. Don't they take any notice of the address they are sending their spam too.

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
I have done that (again) but shouldn't have to as I stated that I did not wish to receive any mails from them.
It shouldn't do but if I get it again I'll just mark them as spam (as they are) and/or block them via Gmail (as this is the address they are going to).
I don't think I have ever received any letters trying to get me to upgrade my package. Virgin Media on the other hand is another story. Even when the were NTL I would get something from them almost weekly which needless to say went right in the bin. New name same old crap from them.
Oh and you should subscribe to watch the Ashes, you will enjoy it, I know I will

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
I too am suffering with these emails. I did explicitly ask to be removed from any kind of email list months ago, which I was assured had happened.
I wonder if when you order a new service o a replacement etc that Sky then class this as an invitation to ignore the opt out already in place?~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
In my case I haven't ordered anything from them at all in years, no new router or subscription so why we are suddenly seeing these is beyond me.
I did find another option in the My Sky settings which took me to a page with newsletter subscriptions and my email address but there is no option to remove yourself from them. I have changed it to a crappy made up one to see if this stops them coming through.
I have mailed them to see what they say and will post back with their answer because as I said in the mail these are unsolicited mail on their part.

Dont get any junk from sky - Virgin though, bloody hell, because their records say we are the only house in our cul-de-sac who can get cable, even though we physically cannot, we had the engineers out to prove it, they still insist in sending their "opportunity to join virgin" spam....grrrrr!

Re: Sky must-see Sky TV highlights Emails
Hardly a few weeks go by without me getting something from Virgin about their broadband services. I used to get the crap through the letterbox when they were NTL and it has continued since the takeover.
