      Believe it or not - No, our dog has been trained not to lick people, or their hands... Since she was a pup...

      She also wipes her paws on the doormat when she comes in - I kid you not... People are amazed!

      Back on topic, I have been told by an old gardener that one thing cats don't like is moth balls. Scattered around the garden they are a good deterrent, but obviously not suitable where children are present.
