O woe is me, the joy's of SKY

Hi, well I’m well impressed with Sky LOL NOT, ordered Sky broadband 27/3/09 received connection date 16/4/09. Tracked my order on Sky website(being processed) so sat back expecting router to arrive before connection date, 12/4/08 no router phoned Sky order had been stopped wrong Mac code according to Sky. Well phoned BT checked Mac code nothing wrong there, got back on to Sky turned out the person who we dealt with originally had made an error with our Mac code. So why could Sky not get in touch with me to sort it out instead of just sitting there twiddling their thumbs. Got it sorted with somebody who knew what they were doing and got a nice apology.
ROUND TWO - Wife received e-mail from Sky saying router was on its way with consignment number so we could track it with Parcel force website, so entered number nothing tried later that day nothing. Next day early morning entered number nothing, about 9.30 knock on door its Mr Parcel force with router good job my wife was in or we would have missed it. LOL it turns out we were sent the wrong tracking number in e-mail. Opened package turn’s out four Ethernet ports and you can only use two (yellow coded one’s), shock got 3 comp’s + one laptop four into two won’t go IMAO. Looks like i, l try to use my Netgear DG834v3 if I can find out how. Could peeps on the forum help me out would be most appreciated.
It gets better received letter from Sky telling me when to connect and how to check when line’s been activated. Shock horror they estimate i,l get 3.5Mb connection, at the moment I’m with BT I connect at it varies a little 5Mb to 5.5Mb.
I don’t see why I don’t get the same with Sky broadband + hope fully a bit faster connection being Sky MAX. Well folk’s i,l keep you informed when the big day arrives Sky broadband connected,
Shock, horror, just read thread BT taking the mick - 60 leaving fee, BTdid not mention that, O woe is me.

Although the router manual suggests that you can only use 2 ports, you can actually use all 4 of them.

That's exactly what it is an estimate. Based on figures from an old BT database.

You should get at least the same if not better than your previous ISP
~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~
