Phone your local Citizens Advice Bureau as suggested, put an appointment on and explain the situation to them. They are very understanding and especially given your situation, they will do all they can to help and everything you tell them is kept confidential.
It looks like you have been scammed, not once but 3 times, Sky have only one authorised repair plan and I think that is run by a very respected national company, Domestic and General springs to mind, although I may be wrong.

      Just tell them you're dead.

Frankly, we treat all of these things like the Viagra spam you get in your inboxes. TV Licencing also falls into that category... I own a car but DVLA don't keep on hassling me two times a month telling me I'm not allowed to drive it.

"Hello, can I speak to Miss XYZ?" "I'm afraid she's in prison at the moment." "I'm afraid she's dead." "I'm afraid she's in Australia." "There's no Miss XYZ here."

If they want something then they'll write... I'm actually thinking about getting a fax machine..... Damn good fax machines are for screening unwanted callers.

Re: Possible Scam against Sky customers?

I recieved a phone call on the 2nd april from a lady claiming to be from sky plus and as a valued customer they wanted to up-grade my insurance to gold service for less than i was currently paying. I stupidly agreed and was asked for my card deails. It was bang on dinnertime for the kids and i was tired so didn't think. I find out now on the 4th April that they have taken money from my account and i have just recieved a contract to sign but they are an independandt 'company' and nothing to do with sky. My bank say they cannot stop them taking any payments and i have had no choice but to cancel my card which now messes up my other bills.Satellite & Homecare Services only have one contact number which constantly rings. Everyone be-aware.

And that is why everybody should use direct debits as they can be cancelled very easily.

Although your credit card company should put this as a "disputed" item and have a chargeback on the company.

From this, I take it you already have a contract with someone. You will have to be careful with this, as you can see from 'pattypat's' post in this thread you could end up being forced to pay twice for the same service.
