Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
I believe also that it is unthrottled as well. But at £51 a month is it really worth it?
Couldn't get it even if I wanted to.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
Well its not so much the £51 as you would probably take out phone and TV with them as well, as their business model seems somewhat similar, to sell more then one service.
Is there any clear indication that it is not throttled, I know that it is unlimited.

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
By taking a gamble and launching a product with no traffic management suggests that Virgin Media is confident that it has created a large enough network to cope with hundreds of thousands of people downloading the internet.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
Very pricey, if people don't get any near this 24/7 there will be some howling.
Personally I am happy with what I have with o2 atm.I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
Well I am quite Impressed with that. They Invested in a whole new network so they must have the bandwidth, or maybe they are relying on the fact that people cannot possibly use that much bandwidth most the time. Well I suppose this is good news for many of the Virgin Customers who see crap speeds even when they are not being throttled.

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
not quite sure what you mean, ( Virgin Media's Upto 50mbps Internet service. Its a shame that it is so heavily controlled by Virgin. ) Who else is going to control it! It is their product, do you want Sky or Tiscali or someone else to control it? But having said that, do you believe what they say? They have been caught out before telling porkies, so what says they are telling the truth this time?

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
I was talking in terms of the throttling and port blocking and control what people have access to what. And not so long ago, how they thought that the concept of Net Neutrality was a load of 'crap'.
I am quite impressed that they have invested in a new network, but as with big companies, CS will still be crap, or so people say.

Re: 50mbps Virgin Broadband
Virgin media ( ex blueyonder ) do nothing for me, I had such a big fallout with them years ago before Virgin took over, I wouldn't trust them with an empty box! They say one thing and do another, they should be politicians!
