      Door entry handsets...any ideas?

      Hey all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows anything about fitting/replacing door entry handsets?

I'd like to replace the existing, very old, handset with a new model but I'm a bit confused how to wire it up.

Here's a pic of the old and new handset wiring. If you have any advice please let me know.

      Thanks guys.

Door entry phones are very simple things. The phone side often uses 3 lines, for receive, transmitt, and and earth for both. In addition there are two lines for the call buzzer, and the door release. If you buy a new unit it will come with instructions as to what connection it what. Is there a diagram in the unit you have now to show what connection does what?

      Hi Brian,

I know that it should be an easy fix, but for some reason my brain seems to stop working every time I look at it (too much work and not enough sleep I think).

The new handset didn't come with any diagrams or manual, hence my post, but I've just found this online:

      Glomar T-910R

      Lock: P1
      Mic: 5
      Comm: 3
      Speaker: 10
      Buzzer: 7
      Tone: 0

Well thats the new one, now you'll need to sus the old one.
If you can find no info about it, it's a case of getting someone to go to the main door and chat to you while you disconnect the wires to see which one does what. Have fun

I came across the same situation, by searching for a handset and a keypad access control panel, and i had no clue. I did however come across url removed, and it helped me find the right system, go check it out as no doubt, you will find what you need.

Admin edit; link removed, this thread is nearly 4 years old and looks like a spammy link.
