Slightly off topic; I am not certain if Microsoft has sorted the problem, but it’s not a good idea to dual boot with one hard drive (partitioned). You will lose your restore points in Vista, when you boot into XP. When XP and Vista are installed in a dual boot configuration, every time XP is booted it deletes any system restore points that Vista created (including "shadow copies" of files). You need to use either of the two Microsoft workarounds they suggest. I actually use two separate hard drives and use the bios to select the drive. Then in XP (and if you want in Vista) disable (hide) the other drive in the device manager. There again your Vista may be stable and you do not need Vista's system restore.
