      Surround Sound System

      Hi all,

Not being a sound tech nerd I need advice. I have SkyHD, dvd player and other devices.

Im looking for an all in on unit that I can plug my Sky HD into and get surround sound. Im not interested in a cd, dvd player just an amp and speakers.

Can someone point me in the correct direction ebay wise so I know what Im looking for.

      Regards.

      Re: Surround Sound System

I'm no expert, and as I don't have a sky HD box maybe not the best to comment, but I don't think that dolby 5.1 is transmitted with the pictures ???

      Re: Surround Sound System

      Two ways around this problem.
      1. Get all the HDMI outputs into a switch and then the output to the TV. Most good LCDs have audio out to an amplifier or DVD player.
Here is are links for two such switches Buy JOYTECH JOTYHDMISW6480 | Ps3 hdmi tri link switcher - Specification | Comet

      Amazon.co.uk: 3 Port (3x1) HDMI Amplifier Mini Switcher (v1.3b Full-HD 1080p): Electronics & Photo

      2. Other option is go for a home cinema system like this one from sony. Put all the outputs from PS3, SKY HD etc to this system and it gives one output to go into your telly for the picture.
SONY HT-DDWG800 Home Cinema System 5.1 system, HDMI: Electronics & Photo: Amazon.co.uk

      Hope this helps.

I can certainly vouch for Yamaha, always quality AV equipment (for over 30 years).

      Re: Surround Sound System

What I like about this system is it has 2 optical in so handy for my Sky HD and my DVD player. It has 6 speakers, free 3 year warrenty and free next day delivery, all from a supplier thats recomended by all.

      Regards.
