New Hovis TV Advert
Now this has to be one of the best adverts ever made.
Although it probably wouldn't tempt me into buying a brown loaf, it does make me want to email them and say 'What a cracking advert!'
Watch it on Hovis's website
The £15million commercial, which toasts more than a century of events, airs for the first time tonight during Coronation Street.
At 122 seconds - one for each year the firm has existed - the ad is so long that the ITV1 soap will be cut by two seconds to fit it in!
The campaign, to promote the return of Hovis's unsliced little brown loaf, has a lot to live up to.

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
"You'er Never Alone With A Strand" was the slogan in a very well made t.v add of the early sixtes, for Strand cigeretties, but althrough everyone could remember the add, nobody brought the fags. Lets hope this brill Hovis add has better luck. (this was in the days when smoking was seen as part of normal life)

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
Good memory Brian.
But there are still advertisers who haven’t learned the lesson.
Some advertising agencies and “creatives” are more interested
in showing how clever they are rather than selling the product.
Which is why Google, the Internet and Sky+ are making
TV advertising and traditional media redundant.Last edited by murdock; 16-09-08 at 10:43 AM. Reason: revised

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
I sent Hovis an email:
What a great advert, makes you proud to be British, and we can relate to absolutely everything in the ad. - Including the bread.
Well done
And I just got this reply:
Dear Ged,
Thank you for your email and your kind remarks regarding our new Hovis Advert. We are incredibly proud of our new TV ad and are really pleased that you enjoyed it too.
If you would like to watch the advert again, it is now available on our website (Hovis Bakery - As good today as it's always been).
Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Regards
Marketing Team

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
For an ad where it's hard to miss the point, has anyone seen the Safestyle window one ("yeh buy one,yeh get one free"). No room for fancy shots here, just some wide eyed nutter flogging double glazing.

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
The SafeStyle UK ads have to be the worst adverts ever.
However, they have got their point across in my eyes, as myself and my kids know the phone number off by heart.

Shame I would never ring them though.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: New Hovis TV Advert
As it prob cost £5 to make I should think it's been very cost effective, and shifted loads of windows.
@ NR.
don't forget the free fitting!! There should be a cheque in the post from Mr SafeStyle
