iPhone PAYG
I see o2 have the following information on their website.
iPhone 3G is coming soon to Pay & Go
Pay & Go customers can now enjoy the iPhone 3G without a monthly contract. The new iPhone 3G 8GB for Pay & Go will be available for £349.99 and the 16GB version for £399.99.
This also includes unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for the first 12 months after you activate your iPhone 3G*. At the end of the 12 months you can continue to receive unlimited browsing and Wi-Fi for just £10 per month. We'll notify you before the end of the 12 month period by text and you can easily unsubscribe if you choose to do so.
It will be available to buy from 16th September in O2 stores, The Carphone Warehouse and Apple stores.
Please note visual voicemail and call merging are not available with Pay & Go. You'll also need to change your data settings to use services such as Mobile Internet. Take a look at the activation tab on this page for more information.
Tempted to get one, but £349? WOW~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: iPhone PAYG
I thought I read somewhere that you must also do a top-up of £10 a month to qualify for the unlimited data & wifi in year one. Or did I imagine that?!?

Re: iPhone PAYG
I do like the thought, but a few things bother me. Its on O2 and unless you jailbreak it you cannot use it on another network, so its useless as a phone (round here at least).
Secondly, there have been many reports of the iPhone getting hot when in use, and also locking up when installing apps, which only a reboot can sort out.
On top of this the 3G side of things are apparently pretty naff and nowhere near as stable or as efficient as most other mobiles.
Just my thoughts.... (Oh yer and those problems for minimum £349 ??)Regards,
Tom (HSNetwork)

Re: iPhone PAYG
Pretty much sums it up Ricky.
I am stuck with my Orange contract for another 10 months or so. And already owning an iPod touch, and the cost of £350 pretty much puts me off PAYG
Maybe Father Christmas will bring me one, along with my 50" Plasma and a PS3.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: iPhone PAYG
i would say the touch is the better option? NR do you have smart phone on your contract, if you do and have a data package as well there is a free application that lets you make your mobile a wireless hotspot.
