      999 calls disk 'lost' by courier

      The Scottish Ambulance Service has admitted that a package containing contact information has been lost.

      The computer disk from its Paisley Emergency Medical Dispatch Centre (EMDC) was lost by the courier, TNT.

      There have been a couple of laptops nicked from cars with hospital patients details on. From memory one was stolen in Scotland but held details of patients from a hospital in East Anglia.

      Personally I'd like to know if those memory sticks were secure ones.

      We've got a set that are, but have had to argue to use them, but to my knowledge no secure ones are cleared for use...
