      unexpected compensation

About a month or so ago i tried to view the 'upgrade my package' part of MYSKY, but kept getting an error so i emailed off to sky just to let them know.

After ensure i was logging in with the primary account they referred it off to their technical team. I gave it 2 weeks and then chased (not really bothered too much, just checking the progress really). They replied and again asked me to check i was using the primary logon account.

I was a bit miffed by this so replied with a sarcastic reponse suggesting that they read the whole email string and chase their tech team as this was where my query was currently sat.

Got a reply back the next day (today) apologising for not reading the email and as a gesture of goodwill they would credit my account with 45!!!

really wasn't expecting that, it's only the 'upgrade package' part of MYSKY that i cant get too!!!!

Perhaps I should ease back on my sarcasm!!! lol

Did you originally have the Disney Channel? If so they need to remove it and then add it, I had exactly the same problem.

Good news on the compensation, I only got a fiver

hmmm, dont think i ever did. Although i used to have Film4 when it was on 'offer' at half price for 3mths then i cancelled it again (before it became part of the standard package).

      Re: unexpected compensation

I think the issue is, from what they told me. Some time in the past, there was a channel (that was a premium) in my case, The Disney Channel, that was an extra subscription. ie 5 a month. Once this package had effectively been changed and added into a Mix Choice subscription, their online system cannot proceed, as that original package no longer exists to add back on.

In my case, they removed the Disney Channel subscription, and then the online upgrade worked straight away.

      Re: unexpected compensation

Any chance of the email address to get this sorted. Don't want to have to phone them up and wait in a big queue for ages. Will probably be ordering Sky+ at some point this week having resigned to the fact I'm not getting it any cheaper.

      Re: unexpected compensation

If you ring them, it may be quicker. Mine was done on the phone there and then, within a few minutes.

      Re: unexpected compensation

Compensation can come quite easily sometimes: I finished sorting a problem out for somebody, it was the first time they'd called and the first time talking to CST, once their problem was solved they promptly said, "I want to speak to your manager". (I've NEVER had someone say that before). They were just intent on getting money for nothing, they were on the base package and got 50 compensation because they cracked up for a while - it was insane!
"Is your router definately plugged into the master telephone socket, sir?"
"YES! SO WHY CAN'T I DO MY WIRELESS?"
"How far away from the router are you?"
      "I'M IN SPAIN"
      True story.

      Re: unexpected compensation

My intention wasn't to fish for compensation. I was just wondering how to go about getting the problem fixed.
