      Hi,

I have a Amstrad sky digi box DRX 100. which is stuck in standby, if I change the box for a Amstrad DRX 400, could some one tell me if the card would still work.

I have a Sky Freeview Card.

      Many thanks,

Yep should do, Only Sky premier channels i.e. Sports and Movies are paired to the box serial number.

You can do a temp fix on these boxes
You have to unplug, remove the lid, grab a hair-drier, warm up the components around the power supply (dodgy diodes) till their very warm.
Plug back in power up and if it comes out of stand by it should be ok unless you turn it off.
I did this with an amstrad box and got it out of stand by, but unfortunately it had a dead modulator as well

Poking around inside electrical equipment should not be done unless A: you know what your doing or B: have a death wish
If it ain`t broke .... Kick the hell outta it till it is
