Are American politicians more interesting than British politicians?

Why is the BBC bombarding us with stories about American
politicians and Stupid Tuesday? The start of a 10 month blitz.

We have better scandals here, which the BBC should be following up.
Jobs for the boys. Election expenses. Cash for honours,
      to mention but a few.

We, and the USA insist on exporting our democracy around the world.
When it has given America George Bush TWICE.
In Britain we asked for Tony Blair three times and
Gordon Brown has never led any party to a General Election victory.
He has been nodded through by the Unions and Labour.

The US is a military, economic, financial and scientific powerhouse
unlike anything the world has seen before.
Is George W Bush really the best the system can produce?

A few years back I recall looking at some research from the
      Henley Centre on social trends.
In one of the charts people were asked to rate establishment
      institutions and professions.

      Politicians came second from last.
      Only journalists fared worse.

Watergate, Monica Lewinski, Enron, subprime mortgages, that bloke who promoted his girlfriend at the world bank, and no SG1.
Our scandals are small beer by comparison.
BTW I think you answered your own question in your post.
