I would like to make it clear that the above advertisement
has not appeared in The Mail on Sunday.
I saw it on the Notice Board of my local Do-It-Yourself store.

After a week of vilification, defiant Derek Conway speaks out and says: 'I did nothing wrong' | the Mail on Sunday

Second Tory MP caught in Commons staffing row after employing daughter, ex-wife and ex-lover's girl | the Mail on Sunday

      Second MP caught?
      Only 155 more to go.
And the Mail will be delighted to hear they are not all Tories.

MP about his son in The Mail on Sunday:
"He used to come home frequently.
He would go up and down like a fiddler's elbow while he was away.

If you have been following the news stories about what his sons have
been up to, with “taxpayers money”, that is a rather unfortunate turn of phrase.

      Re: Ad Hoc

I read the article and the conceit of the man is breathtaking.

So he won't be able to run a yacht on his £24,000 a year House of Commons' pension. Well, boo hoo, it's not bad for doing nothing. It's more than average earnings, double what someone on minimum wage doing a full-time job, and about 4 times more than my mother's pension.

What an absolute pig of a human being that man is.

      Re: Ad Hoc

Unfortunately it's not just one MP.
On Radio 4 I think I heard that there are
about 90 Conservatives and 60 Labour MPs who
employ friends and relatives, paid for by the tax payer,
presumably without ever advertising the posts.
No one knows the exact numbers.

This does not mean they are all doing anything wrong
of course. But you must wonder about these people who
make the Laws and are always on about benefit cheats etc.

According to someone on the Mail message board the MP
doesn't even know what his own pension will be.
Its twice the amount he quotes (according to the post I read).

Scotland Yard has said it would not be "appropriate" to hold a
police investigation into the expenses of a disgraced MP.
It said a "lack of systems in this case to account for MPs' expenses
would severely undermine the viability of any criminal investigation". –BBCi
