      Vulcan bomber returns to the sky

      A Vulcan bomber has flown again after years of restoration work by engineers in Leicestershire.

      It last flew 14 years ago after a 33-year career in the RAF, including service in the Falklands War.

      Cool, i helped out, i've got a pair of return to the skies socks somewhere in a drawer that i picked up on their stand at an airshow last year. Just goes to show every little bit does help - lol

      I saw one at RNAS Culdrose 15 odd years ago - absolutely awesome. It did a couple of low passes, one with its bomb doors open, then it put on full power and pulled away. On the ground it felt like you were in the middle of an earthquake!

      Next up was Concorde and that seemed so tame in comparison

      I guess I'm fortunate to say I've actually been onboard one of these planes. They had one parked at the entrance to the old RAF Finningly airbase for many years as it was one of the few sites it was based whilst in service.
