      Digital Switchover

So when this all come into play in about 3 1/2 years - does this mean that if people get rid of their digital TV , or do not upgrade and therefore cannot receive the new service, they dont have to pay a licence fee?

People can get rid of their sets now but it can be hard to prove, however if you turn on your TV and you get nothing then that should be good enough

The first switch over is in 50 days, hence the lovely logo and a link for people to get information.

The Copeland area, including the town of Whitehaven, is the first area to switch to digital television in the UK. The switchover will start on October 17th and end on November 14th 2007.
