      What does AVL stand for?on my HD TV. Whatever it is should it be on or off?

      Well it's audio and visual for starters.

      What does it say in the manual?

      I'd guess its a system that learns the ambient conditons of the room and automatically adjust the AV settings accordingly.

      It's probably something like "Automatic Volume Limiter".

      What make/model is it?

      Hi, I can tell you what AVL is for.

      Auto Volume Level.

      It means when you set the TV At a specific level of sound, it trys to keep to that volume, and if it goes any louder than the volume then the tv automatically turns the volume down, and then back up to the current volume settings, when theres a lot of booming sound that happens also.

      It was feature that used to be on analogue home video cameras, don't know if it still on the digital version of video cameras. I have that setting on my 32" LG HDTV also, i have it switched off cos its crap.

      Goodmans 32" HD Widescreen TV (Brand New but nothing in the poor book provided.
