I DID!!!! Carousel was great!!! They all came from the same software house in black boxes, like two vhs cassette tapes side by side. What was the software house? Like Microsoft.... MicroPower? Wasn't macrosoft, that was someone else (possibly they did Chucky Egg)

I had all the educational titles too. Do you remember the introductory cassette? Had a cool sorting programme on it that would sort a list of words....!!!!

Other games included Chucky Egg, Killer Gorilla (my brother favourite) and, YEARS advanced at its time (and STILL an immensley huge and playable game), Elite. I remember being incredibly frustrated by the fact that all my friends had Sinclair Spectrums and then Amiga 500s and Atari STs which were great for games and I was stuck with my BBC.... but it stood me in good stead for my future career....!

Can't remember I'm afraid. Just did a quick search and came across this - bet that brings back some memories It's amazing to think that Elite was such a ground breaking game when you see a screenshot

And I've just seen that it wasn't Frogger but Hopper (a clone).

      So long ago.

EDIT: Chuckie Egg, Hopper, Carousel and the welcome programme.

My first PC was an AMD Duron 700mhz with 64mb of RAM and a claimed 10 (actually 9) GB hard drive. Onboard graphics chip. Oh how excited I was to get it too!

Elite was awesome! Easily one of the greatest games ever made. If you're interested in more take a look at the Stairway to Heaven site. Retro gaming heaven. The BEEBem emulator works very nicely.

Mine was a Advent PC with a Cyrix 586 processor, 16mb ram, 1gig HDD and Windows 95. I think it set me back about 800 at the time.

Soon afterwards I fitted a 2.5GB HDD and was told I'd never need anything bigger than that haha.

My first ever, ever PC was a Compaq Window 95 system with a 4GB hard drive, didn't have a clue back in those days. Though I class my first proper PC a eMachine back in 2004 with much updated specs.

40GB HDD, 128MB RAM, DVD + CDRW, etc, etc..

Same here. My Girlfriend - now wife, bought me a 16k RAM-pack (by JRS). Oh joy!

Then followed: Dragon 32, Amstrad CPC464, Elan Enterprise, Tatung Einstein, Atari 1040STE and Amiga 1200. (Actually, I think computing was much more fun during this period).

Then went to the 'Dark Side'. Too many PC's, all of which I built apart from one - a brand new P100 from Curry's for an outrageous sum of money.
