      Online Gaming - Recommendations

What's your all time and current online game?

For me, all time probably goes back to the good old days of Command and Conquer.

As for "current" I'd say Age of Empires III, although there are far too many "cheats" playing now (you agree rules up front, they wait 5 mins and break them).

Got BF2 a few weeks ago and am disappointed, but I have yet to play it online.

Americas Army is cool for a freebie (if a little limited) and the massive downloads used to be a pain, but not anywmore

Gary, it is reassuring to note that you are able to play online games now.

BHD - Whats that? Big Hairy Dinosaurs?

Just looked at the video trailer for Call of Duty 2, looks damn impressive.

All time fav has to be Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. Used to play them on the college network. Anyone remember BT Wireplay, used to play D3D on there.

Current online fav is Wolf ET

I have had BF2 since release, and although it is flawed, it is a great game online - infact i have never played it single player offline. Make sure you download the patch to 1.4 and then try online - so long as you find a good server you'll have great fun.

My all time fave FPS was Ghost Recon since your asking (not the new one, the old one ) and I've wasted many hours playing Lineage 2 but I quit that one now (big MMORPG).

For "pick up and play" you cant really beat a good console like the 360

      Hiya,

I built my system initially solely to play BF2 and that's pretty much all I do with my life in the evenings (that and get it in the ear from da missus )

But it is buggy and can't wait for 2142 or Quake Wars which looks like the mutts nuts...wooohoooo

BUT since going onto Sky BB my online games in BF2 seem to disconnect quite frequently with connection problems, I use Qtracker to find servers and am getting much better pings from previously being on Tiscali 2Mb.

It seems that when I lose connection my IE will also stop working, have checked the connection status on the router and it seems to be dropping, can't explain how ruddy infuriating this is as I keep losing my in-game scores either a hard reset of the Netgear or just keep trying to connect brings it back up usually within a minute

      Bone

Is your router still at the stage where it is negotiating a new stable speed ?

mine is, i think its almost settled now at around 1.984mb and I havent had anywhere near as many disconnects as over the last week.
