      End of the 5 Connect package ???

      My bank statements tell me that I'm currently paying 5 for the Connect service. That's the correct amount. It used to be 17 but I phoned them up a few months back when Connect was being offered for 5 and they transferred me onto the 5 Connect service.

      This morning the latest Sky mag arrived with news that the price of the TV bit is going up and the new monthly amount they state for me in the cover letter includes 17 for Connect...

      I had a look around the sky website and I can no longer get an offer for 5 Connect when I type my phone number into the availability checker.

      I'm loathe to phone them up to ask in case I end up on the 17 Connect again.

      I don't see why I should pay more because EasyNet are behind schedule. They originally estimated "early in the new year" (2007) for unbundling of my exchange (Garforth, near Leeds) and there's no indication anywhere if or when it will ever be done.

      Has anyone had their Connect price increased in this manner?

      I haven't had my Sky mag yet but it might be that they have not taken into account that you are on the 5 price. That price is supposed to be available for 6 months at least so I would be surprised if they are going to stop it before the time is up. It could also be the reason why you are offfered the full price for Connect when checking your details is that they are going to do away with the cheap price and any body new to Sky will have to pay the 17 price for a while.

      Or I could be talking complete rubbish !

      My Brother has the Connect package so I'll ask him when I speak to him next what his letter says, although to complicate matters a bit further his exchange has just been unbundled but as yet he does not have a day when he can moved onto the Mid package.

      Yup, but he has only been with Sky for his broadbnad for a couple of months.
