Our current setup is a 720p/1080i and it is excellent, Even on SD Upscaled Streams, Obviously through a SkyHD Set.
We have plans to get a new HD 1080p set, Which is supposed to be far superior, Even though Sky or VM dont support it yet, Im sure it will be excellent with the DVDs and gaming consoles.

HD itself has been a great step forward sound and imaging is excellent - Saying that both of our sets are Sony. One of our relatives have an LG and another Toshiba and they both even though on Sky HD is nothing like ours.

This is the point no one tells you you have to have a HD input or the picture quality is cr@p, I didn't expect HD quality without a HD input but I did expect as good a picture as I got from my old CRT.

That means incredibly detailed and smooth images when you're hooked up to an HD source and a great way to bring out the true potential of PS3, blu-ray and HD DVD players.
That ^^ Was found on a few of the HD TVs advertised on the Currys site, Indeed you should get the same if not better picture on the HD then you did on previous but again, Once you do have the HD streams, The standard BBC1 and ITV ect via the Sky box look alot better then on the standard.

      Got a full refund

95% of TVs are HD but no ware dose it say unless you have a HD input picture quality will be pants. Dose this not contravene the trades description act?

Personally I've never seen an LCD I could live with. Now, my Panasonic plasma (or my old Sony Trinitron CRT) - beautiful.

      Re: HD TV's are poo

I agree in HD they are wonderful and I never expected a HD picture from my normal Sky or TV but I did expect a picture that was the same quality as a standard TV. Also why bother to build in freeview when they are not transmitting in HD...

      Re: HD TV's are poo

Im sorry but whats the point madrat in getting a HD TV if you have no HD input? thats like buying a colour TV if your only gonna watch old films that are in black and white. Most new and good HD TV's have good upscalers so that your SD input will look as good as ever.
