Re: Virgin Media to scrap V+ Charge???
I can't see them scrapping it completely... not without charging for the box instead, like Sky do.

they will just reduce the top cheese says
i admit i do find their CS to be better - it's just things like you always get through never on hold - and they have instant control over the network unlike ADSL Max does.

Re: Virgin Media to scrap V+ Charge???
From this post & various others in the same thread at CF, it seems that...allegedly...
(as of 1st June)
- If you already have V+, you can pay a £100 one-off fee, & then either pay no V+ subscription (if you're on "XL" TV, where V+ is normally £10) or pay £5/month (if on "L" & "M" TV, where V+ costs £15/month normally).
- If you are a new V+ customer, you can pay a £150 one-off fee (this includes installation too), & then either pay no V+ subscription (if you're on "XL" TV, where V+ is normally £10) or pay £5/month (if on "L" & "M" TV, where V+ costs £15/month normally).
- Or you can skip the one-off charge, & continue paying £15 (XL) or £10 (L/M) per month for V+.
Either way, the box actually remains the property of Virgin Media.
Good move from VM, but I don't think I'd want to fork out £100/£150 & not *own* the box!
Still not as competitive as Sky, either.
£99 for Sky+ box plus £30 installation plus no extra Sky+ sub. charge = £129.
OK, HD works out more, 'cos you have £299 for the box plus £10/month HD sub.... but, then again, SkyHD does have more HD content than V+...& you can get the box for half that if you look around...
