Anyone Been Double Charged By Sky?

Any of you been double charged by Sky?

I got a multiroom subscription in August 2006 and they have continued billing me for the second subscription I had before that and now owe me 392.30! I've had letters from them saying they won't pay - they claim they were never informed that I wanted to cancel the second account but the guy on the phone who set up the multiroom subscription told me the second account would be cancelled. In the meantime, they have also pulled the stroke of "we have to send an engineer to check that your second box is on the premises because you're not hooked up to the phone line", "oh yes I am", "oh no you're not"...

If they won't repay me what they owe me, I will be taking them to small claims court. However, if there are others out there like me that they've ripped off in this manner, we could have a class action suit.

So, do let me know if this has happened to you!

We had something like this, We called Sky back in December to change the billing date from the 19th to 1st, They did this, Billed us on the 1st and then again on the 19th for 5 Months, But this has know been solved, However, Sky just put the owing amount as a credit on the account.

Different to your problem, But just to say if Sky do pay you back, It will probably be a credit to your account

That's where they're crafty, sly and probably engaging in sharp practice - they rarely put anything in writing!

I wouldn't mind that so much, but they deny they did anything wrong! How did you convince them you were correct?

Re: Have Any Of You Been Double Charged By Sky?

We had Sky statements both Dated the 1st and 19th, and Bank Statements, Most probably an admin error,

However, The 19th Day Bills werent on Sky's Systems so all it took was a simple scan and email and all was sorted, However, They were reluctant to replace the owing onto the bank account and simply add it onto the Sky account.
Obviously so that the money is still in the Sky system!

Re: Anyone Been Double Charged By Sky?

Well sky tell me that on the 8th when i signed up to movies i was not charged - yet i paid 61 on a month for a 26 package - i rang up a week later and cancelled the movies and according to the TV got a 37 credit - however sky say this didn't happen and i am now to pay for another month before getting that recredited and also having to pay the sky + charge till 1st july

When i asked them where my 37 had gone they just said i was never charged that and it was a mistake

my bank statements and interactive statements show otherwise..

      i'm not impressed..

Re: Anyone Been Double Charged By Sky?

When I first signed up for sky they charged me for 2 Sky+boxes but I only needed to ring up once to get a refund.

Orange who I am under contract for another 6 months overcharged me 20 and were very rude when and told me "you are under contract, you won't get anything" I tried phoning back for another CS person a couple of times but will just cancel and go elsewhere unless they offer a unbeatable deal and refund my 20.

To be fair to Orange the BB has gone back to normal but I am still tempted to switch to Sky BB to save some cash. Any chance Sky might move into mobiles and offer a good deal?

Re: Anyone Been Double Charged By Sky?

Although I voted no I now have access to a breakdown of my bills view the MySky.com site and they did charge my twice on the same bill but also credited me back at the same time, as well as credited me back a couple of other quid so I ended up about 8 up in the end. I did wonder why that month it was cheaper than usual as I pay the same ammount each month.

Now they are overcharging me by 40p on the Connect broadband package.
