      New Vision. BB/Freeview/Recorder

A striking advertisement in Radio Times led me to
      BT Vision

BT Vision combines Freeview, with BT Total Broadband and a “free”
hard disc recorder that can store up to 80 hours of programmes.
You also have the option of pay per view films/sports/soccer.

This looks a more interesting, Flexible and low cost option,
      than Sky or Virgin Media.
Especially if you are in a no cable area and can get Freeview.
And the Recorder looks remarkably like Sky+

      Opinions?

I saw the advert for this on TV the other night, looks pretty good.

      Re: New Vision. BB/Freeview/Recorder

i'm not too keen on this.. firstly all the demand stuff comes via ADSL so if you got a crap line speed you'll suffer - also it's a glorified freeview - you need to resub for another 12 months - and you also need the BT home hub before this will work.

all the on demand stuff is great - however nothing is better for on demand than the transponder of a satellite.. or fibre

and i'd expect there to be some sort of FUP or limit - which makes it pointless anyway!

Once the Sky+ sub goes you'd be better off just subscribing to two of Sky's mixes. More channels and a better broadband service (higher limit etc)
