Irc channel will be closing unless....

People start using it. It has a maximum of 2-3 people online everyday and i am not going to run it for that.

If it does get closed would like to thank the admin for giving it a chance.

I have started a thread on here which about 4-5 replies so i guess no one wants to use it.

It has till the 23rd April 2007 to turn itself around

      Cheers

The main thing is, There is already the SkyUser FlashChat which people can use straight off all they need is Macromedia Flash which most people do,
Unlike the IRC where people have to install additional apps.

But even with the FlashChat its not as popular as it was when it was launched, Wether you decide to close it or not, I would like to personally thank you for taking your time and setting it up.

I would think thats its the fact that people find it easier to just open ie and post here rather than installing mirc going through option connecting to servers..etc

it is a shame as Mark has spent so much of his own time in setting it up and running it, perhaps Jas is right in what he posted? or is irc old hat now days? i don't know, people do have very busy lives now days so sitting in an irc channel is not very practical? we also have vent which also is not as popular as we wouldd like

once again thanks Mark for the time and effort

What gets on my nerves is when it opened there was between 10-15 people online. Now its just 0.

      Why?

      Pure laziness

All I can say, is thank you for trying it out, but to say its pure laziness is a little harsh imho If you have chosen to close it, that's your call. But like anything things need time to take off. Rome was not built in a day.

Re: Irc channel will be closing unless....

tbh having a ircd just for skyusers is abit mush, would be a better idea using a network that is already known (quakenet/efnet ect) that most irc users are already connected to
