Do you know if it needs any ports opening on the router?
If you can tell me if and what ports, I can talk you through how to do it.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Hi i had to change the wireless security to wep 128 for the ds i would imagine it is the same for thw w11 as you can play against ds peeps with the wii.
Once you have changed to wep 128 you will be able to pair the router to the nintendo.I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.

thanks for the reply fellas.... i managed to marry the Wii and Router later in the day and updated the News and Weather channels but i'm not sure if they have been officially launched in the U.K yet... i can get on the Online Shop (virtual console) easily enough though... funny that... they must want my pesos....

I've just hooked my Wii and d/l the update. It took about 8mins so I think my wireless is running slow.
My PC is connected via cable at I get a max speed of 7MB but I noticed before when I used my laptop the speed was running slow.

Yep, my Wii is all WPAed up now and has connected fine and updated itself etc etc. Hooray! Just out of interest, my updates also took quite a few minutes - but less than 10 mins each (it does 2 updates when you connect to the net for the first time). This was also true with my 2 friends, however, who are both on different ISPs (yes we all pre-ordered Wiis, you don't have to tell us we're sad!). I think more than anything, the Nintendo servers will just be a bit maxed out, what with it being launch day and all. Of course, they don't tell you how big the file is that you are downloading!
