Re: Nintendo Wii And Sky Broadband
All you need to do (took me 5 min on a netgear phase two). On the wii manually assign the IP address to 192.168.0.15 then set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and then the DNS server to 192.168.0.1 Browse for a new network which picks up the router, pop in the Network key. Off you go.

is the wii near the router?
wii menu > wii options > wii options 2 > internet > connection settings > select an unused connection slot > wireless connection > search for access point > find your point sky***** > enter your code in CAPS > test
if this dosent work i have a backup v1 router and i cant connect to it wirelessly not sure if this is a bug with all of themLast edited by laney; 23-08-08 at 03:25 PM.

Re: Nintendo Wii And Sky Broadband
Is Access Control turned on or off?
If it's turned on, then you need to either turn it off, or leave it on & add the Wii to it.
If you find the Wii's MAC address, you can add that manually. Or, if you try to connect the Wii, it's MAC address will show up as an "Available Wireless Station" & you select it & add it that way.
If it's on, try turning it off initially, to make it simpler. Once you get it connected, you can re-enable it & add the Wii.
Shouldn't even need to do that. The Wii will work fine with an automatically assigned IP.
My v1 Sky router works perfectly with my Wii.
I've asked before, but...
What are the Wii's network settings? Is it set to auto, or does it have a manually specified IP address & DNS etc.?
Are you sure you are entering the correct SSID & the correct WPA key? Are you using the correct case, and are you sure you're not mistaking e.g. O for 0 etc.?
The Wii works perfectly fine with the Sky router(s). It must be something in the settings...
You could temporarily turn off the security on the router, & then try to get it to connect, just as a test. Then, once you know it does work, & the settings are fine, turn the security back on ASAP & ensure the correct WPA key is entered.

I tend to do that as I have many devices connected on an internal network. Yeah It should work fine though.
