Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
Just thought I'd give an update on my statistics at present:-
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time WAN PPPoA 30685 48909 0 3629819 54500732 9:13:19 LAN Up 960349 597727 0 540745029 49659980 148:21:19 WLAN Up 10389338 8238489 0 1004771953 2147483647 148:21:02 ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 10238 kbps 945 kbps Line Attenuation 39.5 dB 14.1 dB Noise Margin 4.3 dB 13.4 dB
--- 212.58.246.92 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 45.5/47.1/51.3 ms
Noise levels have dropped on upload speed, which should increase performance on the gaming side. Ping speed not budging yet, but will post further results.

Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
Noise protection still set high. If the next profile it sets has lower noise protection, you should hopefully see lower ping times.

Looking much better now10 days are up on dlm. Noticed the re-syncing has stopped, but will my noise margin go back to skys default? Am I right in thinking it should be around 7.0dB?

Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
It depends on your line. It could stay where it is, or go up to about 6db, but that may reduce your connection speed.

Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
Thanks for feedback guys. Just hope I don't loose my speed due to router disconnecting, being turned off etc

Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
Hi there. Thought I'd post my settings from today:-
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 539590 913299 0 144 60 12:51:47
LAN Up 93838 74906 0 147 955 41:20:05
WLAN Up 2902366 3735945 0 10192 0 41:19:42
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10234 kbps 1090 kbps
Line Attenuation 39.5 dB 23.3 dB
Noise Margin 2.5 dB 7.8 dB
I've managed to keep my router switched on without any problems. Just curious though, do sky routers reboot themselves over time, hence the times on the port status? Also gained a very slight increase in upload speed aswell

Re: Gaming profile, is it better?
Not sure if I should have created another thread, but basically I've noticed my router has been rebooting over the last couple of weeks. Is it to do with the new firmware that everyone is talking about? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
