PS3 COD 4 Lag Online gaming

Hi hope you can ps help me with this problem. I am always gettin lag/timeouts when playing online (getting killed easily and not being able to kill) which is strange because my stats look pretty decent. I asked sky to change my max delays a while back but they never got back to me but actually things did infact get better for a few weeks but still unsure if max delays was ever lowered! Is there a way to check this out ps? Note Router is connected to Master socket via 10M Ethernet Cable, If i put router next to master w/out telephone my stats remain the same-hence why i keep it on the patch cable. Thanks
PS would my online gaming connection be better to join a Clan?

Looks like it could be DLM which will impact your ping/ speed/ stability till it ends.

just did a search and see your point, how can i tell if i am being DLM'd? Also my connection was a bit up and down before due to tree brushing against overhead line, would this DLM be better for me? Thanks again for prompt reply

PS i understand these changes are only for LLU users, how do i know if i am on a BT line or SKY. I am pretty sure i am on the Max

796 upstream shows you are on DLM, also the fact that you are on Max and getting the higher upstream shows that you are on Sky's LLU equipment.
Looking at your speedtest result, I would guess that your Max delays have been lowered as 45ms ping is not too bad for Sky.
How do you connect your PS3 to your router? If it is wireless try a wired connection to see if that helps. If it doesn't help then the chances are that your problems are caused by the host of the game being across the pond.
Try setting up a private match as host with a few friends to see if that makes it any better. If it does then it's unlucky host selection that is causing your issues.

Re ping: I did a speedtest on ps3 and my DL and ping are terrible (pic below) a few mins later did the normal ping/speedtest on PC and its high as usual! I think this is the reaon for bad gameplay....what would cause this and can it be matched to that of my pc?

ow do you connect your PS3 to your router?

My ps3 is linked via cabel

If it does then it's unlucky host selection that is causing your issues.

I did not see it that way, is there a way to get a host with lower ping (like the pld cod on pc)
