Sky Connect - able to reduce pings?
Hi all,
I am currently on Sky Broadband Connect as the other packages are not available in our area. I used the Kana tech support form to ask to have my delay levels reduced.
However i got the following response:
Thank you for contacting Sky Broadband Technical Support.
As you are on the broadband connect package we are unable to alter the max delays for your connection. Your broadband connection is governed by BT and we do not have the means to adjust your settings.
I trust this helps however should yo u continue to experience technical difficulties, please reply to this email or call us on 08442 41 05 15 . Lines are open 24 hours a day.

Re: Sky Connect - able to reduce pings?
I play quake wired directly via the Sky Sagem router and have a wireless connection to it for my Xbox 360.
I used to get pings of 15-30 with FireflyUk Adsl but then changed over to sky and get 50-60 at best.

Re: Sky Connect - able to reduce pings?
i would suggest a comparison from your "test" socket (see first link in my sig)
When you are in the test socket, do a nother ping test and see if it is any better
(i would think you may have an internal wiring problem, with your attenuation you should be syncing at 8096 or there abouts)Links

Re: Sky Connect - able to reduce pings?
Thanks for the post richone54, before i get those stats why would I get a ping of 15-30 stable with my old isp if it was a wiring problem?

Re: Sky Connect - able to reduce pings?
i could not say for sure, may be a setting issue at the isp, could be down to router being a bit more sensitive or i may have the wrong end of the stick completley.
either way a comparison will confirm one way or the other,Links

bear in mind there is a 10-day bedding in period for Connect (you don't say how long you've been with Sky)...
