Nintendo DS unable to link to Netgear router

Hi,

My Daughter has a Nintendo DS, and wants to play online. I am having trouble linking the DS to the router. can anyone provide me with a step by step tutorial. the message we get on the DS when we try to find access point says " the access points security settings as not supported by the nintendo DS"

Sounds like the DS doesn't like WPA, you will need to access your router settings page 192.168.0.1
user name admin
password sky
and turn wireless encryption down to wep
generate a key and apply it and then put the same key into the nintendo.

sorry but i am new to this - how do i generate a key for wep? and where on the nintendo do i input the key?
